This year’s week-long Brisbane Arcade Spring Flower Show will be a floral-themed wonderland of carousels, a ferris wheel, cake displays and vintage bicycles overloaded in colourful blooms  from Saturday 1 to Friday 7 September.

One of Brisbane’s oldest shopping arcades has held its annual Spring Flower Show since 2014, and this year’s theme will take visitors for a stroll down memory lane by paying homage to our fondest memories of Spring Fairs. The Brisbane Arcade’s Spring Flower Show will be officially launched on Saturday 1 September – the first day of Spring – with a spring fashion and jewellery runway show under the stars in the Queen Street Mall, followed by a glamour cocktail party inside the Arcade amongst the Spring Fair flower show installations.

Requiring months and months of preparation and logistical management and planning, Brisbane Arcade’s annual Spring Flower Show is installed over three nights with an estimated 150 hours of manpower. This year’s Brisbane Arcade’s Spring Flower Show is expected to feature a variety of orchid species, gerberas, carnations, daffodils, iris, lillies, chrysanthemum, stocks, snapdragons and gladioli, with majority of these blooms sourced locally.

Brisbane Arcade Marketing Manager Andra Bite says the annual Spring Flower Show increases in popularity year-to-year because it offers a way to celebrate Spring in the CBD. “Spring is a special time of year, and who doesn’t love flowers and the opportunity to visit Brisbane’s most cherished heritage shopping arcade when it is blooming with giant floral installations,” Ms Bite said. “Our annual Spring Flower Show is a sensory and ‘must do’ Brisbane experience to celebrate the turn of the Spring season. This year’s Spring Fair theme has enabled our team to be very florally creative with those fond memories most of us have of spring fairs or school fetes.”
