This year’s Brisbane Fashion Month (BFM) Business Workshop presented by Australia Post is set to be a networking and educational event for fashion professionals, held at West Village‘s The Bromley Room on Saturday 20 October. With an expert line-up of speakers, topics will include how to launch a start-up, taking a fashion business beyond Queensland to the world, and the legal considerations along the way.

Focusing on new opportunities in the industry, attendees will hear from those who have been there and done it – what went right, and what went wrong along the way. There are tips on how to get a brand seen in new and traditional media from one of Brisbane’s leading public relations companies, and attendees will hear from Cue Retail Brand Manager Kate Bielenberg about her career journey so far.

The Business Workshop, now in its third year, is an opportunity to network and learn from a like-minded group of professionals. Designers, stylists, photographers, consultants, educators and model agencies will be in the room and for the first time this year, attendees will have the opportunity to take the mic and pitch their business or call for collaboration to the audience in the new two-minute pitch segment. The event will be held in the brand new Bromley Room in the West Village and includes breakfast and morning tea by Caxton St Catering and a premium gift bag.

Brisbane Fashion Month, presented by Wintergarden, is one of the largest showcases of Queensland designers of any event in the state. Audiences can see more than 35 local designer’s collections across active, swim and resortwear to occasion and bridal collections from some of the biggest names in Queensland fashion, on a series of runways ranging from free events in the Queen Street Mall outside Wintergarden to gala functions which draw a crowd of fashion lovers, sponsors and industry alike.
