Blackbird Bar and Grill won the Best Overall Queensland Wine List at the 2017 Restaurant & Catering Australia and Royal Queensland Wine Show Wine List Awards.

The 1920s styled Brisbane bar, situated on the Brisbane riverfront at Eagle Street, won a total of three awards: best Restaurant Wine List, best Overall QLD Wine List and best Restaurant in Licensed Venue Wine List.

Head chef Anthony Donaldson thanked the organisation for the awards.

‘We are honoured to have received this year’s award. I am immensely proud of my team’s efforts, including our brilliant chefs, managers, sommeliers and waiters which all goes towards providing our diners with the best possible experience,” said Donaldson.

The chef attributed the restaurant’s success to its focus on sourcing high-quality food and wine.

“We work closely with our suppliers, winemakers and our staff to ensure each wine is a true representation of region, vintage and variety. At Blackbird Bar and Grill, we have made a deliberate choice to focus on providing high-quality, locally produced wines to complement our extensive range of meals which we believe is a core aspect of our product offering,” said Donaldson.
