Crafty’s Sports Bar has opened in Harbour Town’s new Eats precinct, offering a vast array of dishes from Mexican meals to Italian delicacies, and even German fare.

Cocktails were the first event of the day, kicking off our Sunday afternoon with a Furphy Refreshing Ale and Crafty’s Signature Golden Duck cocktail. Each signature cocktail boasts a surprise element, injecting fun and laughter into each sip. The Golden Duck donned a miniature floating duck to accompany the drinker for the afternoon, floating atop the nuclear mix of 151 Proof Rum, green Chartreuse and lime with ease.

The first course off the chopping block was a myriad of bites, ordering the Giant Soft Pretzel and Salt & Pepper Calamari to start. Dipped into the accompanying creamy, gooey golden ale cheese dip, the pretzel was buttery and soft, delivering on the promised ‘giant’ size. Also served with pickled cucumber and seeded mustard, it was a crowd pleaser for all tastebuds, alongside the perfectly cooked calamari.

Then out paraded our mains, a perfect balance of the Smoked Ham & Pineapple Pizza and the highly recommended Grilled Prawn Salad. Choosing a favourite between the two would be near impossible, between the sweet and smoky pizza flavours adequately loaded onto a 100 per cent handmade sourdough base, to the summer-lovers concoction of flavours brought to the table by the salad, it was a great combination.

Crafty’s is changing the hospitality landscape on the Gold Coast with their energetic ‘active’ venue encouraging fun, humour and highly ‘competitive socialising’ to the local entertainment scene. Crafty’s is the perfect place for guests to catch up with friends over a morning coffee or to watch a sports game over cocktails and craft beer in the afternoon. The kid’s under 12 menu offers low sugar sodas and tasty spiders, which are sure to delight even the fussiest youngsters.
