Brisbane-based saxophonist Dan Ford will be performing at Doo-Bop Jazz Bar with his quintet on Wednesday 26 September.

Dan is comfortable in a wide array of musical genres, including blues, contemporary pop, rock and even musical theatre, but it is his original compositions and jazz standards with a distinctive modern style that has helped Dan build his following in the jazz scene over the past few years. Originally from Canberra, he followed his passion for jazz by studying at the Australian National University’s School of Music. Later going on to earn his Master’s degree in jazz performance at the Queensland Conservatorium at Griffith University.

Since then, he has performed at a wide variety of events in Europe and Australia, including the Queensland Music Festival, Meriumbula Jazz Festival and the Canberra International Music Festival, just to name a few. He has also answered various invitations to perform with both the Canberra Symphony Orchestra and the Brisbane Contemporary Jazz Orchestra.

Later this year, Dan will be performing in Ipswich at Studio 188 on Friday 2 November. Joining alongside him at these performances are a number of talented and unique Australian musicians.
