Courtney Thorpe and Damien Anthony Rossi are set to capture the inside scoops on fashion and social happenings after being hailed 2017 Carnival Ambassadors for the Channel Seven Brisbane Racing Carnival.

The ‘Dynamic Duo’ will be working alongside the previously announced ambassador Kendall Gilding, to provide racegoers with exclusive stories both on and off the track.

As the Carnival’s Social Ambassador, Former Miss World Australia and law student Courtney will report on Carnival buzz through social media channels during, and in the lead-up to, the five day race.

“I am thrilled to be involved and excited to get out and about to meet people,

chat and keep people connected with what’s going on,” Courtney said.

“I will be chatting to punters and celebrity guests, checking out who is entering Fashions on the Field, what the chefs are cooking up, and what’s going on around the stables, and sharing that information on the spot so people feel that they are part of it.”

Damien, who was integral as the Carnival’s Fashion Ambassador in 2016, will reprise his role again this year of providing racegoers with the everything about fashion and style.

The experienced presenter on 7 News’ lifestyle program The Great Day Out predicts that the style stakes will be higher, and looks forward to seeing what ‘fashionistas’ will bring to this year’s Carnival.

“I was blown away by the level of style and glamour last year, particularly hosting Fashions on the Field,” he said.

“There were some world-class designs created and worn by entrants that would have been right at home at any of the renowned international race days around the globe.”

The Carnival includes five top-class race meetings in Brisbane, kicking off on 13 May with James Boag‘s Premium Doomben 10,000 Day, and concluding on 10 June with the UBET Stradbroke Cup.

The 2017 Carnival is set to launch officially on 21 April; tickets on sale now.
