For its 59th anniversary year, Cairns Amateurs Carnival is vying to beat last year’s attendance of 18,000 racegoers with its refreshing and glamorous blend of tropical fun, fashion and racing held over three days. Amateurs Carnival CEO, Graham Thornton, said this year’s program has been created to enhance the event’s new destination branding, “Racing on the Great Barrier Reef.”
