QUT Art Museum Exhibitions
QUT Art Museum will pay tribute to the exceptional contribution women have made to abstract and modern art in its two upcoming art exhibitions. Abstraction: Celebrating Australian Women Abstract Artists, a National Gallery of Australia exhibition, examines the myriad of ways that Australian women artists have championed abstraction and kept it alive in the 21st Century. Salon de Fleurus presents a story of modern art’s beginnings through a contemporary reconstruction of Gertrude Stein’s Parisian salon. It was one of the first gathering places for burgeoning young artists such as Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso and Stein herself. Check the QUT Art Museum website for detailed daily opening times.
