Jarrod Duffy Is Not Dead
Unravel the mystery with Applespiel in their latest performance, Jarrod Duffy Is Not Dead. The new work dives into the 2010 disappearance of Jarrod Duffy, the ninth member of Applespiel, a multi-art form collective who studied together at the University of Wollongong. Duffy disappeared two weeks before an Honours show, leaving behind the furniture at his house and a trail of unanswered questions. Blending performance, personal storytelling and podcasts, the performance is a complex and playful exploration of truth, with an intriguing tale of the search for a missing friend.
“The investigative nature of podcasts like Serial is really exciting, and throws up some tricky questions of ethics and what it means to tell someone else’s story. We though the most challenging way to look at those questions would be to tell a story that happened to us.” – Nathan Harrison, Applespiel
