Watiya Juta Solo Aboriginal Art Exhibition
Mitjili Napurrula, a Pinitupi artist from Central Australia, presents her solo exhibition, Watiya Juta at Mitchell Fine Art Gallery. The Aboriginal artworks portray stories relating to the ancient ritual of the spear straightening ceremony, a central motif in her father’s dreaming. Napurrula’s works are part of numerous international and national collections including the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Art Gallery of South Australia, National Gallery of Australia and the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory. The community is invited to a floor talk about the life and artistic practice of Mitijili Napurrula with Director Mike Mitchell at 2pm on Saturday 7 April.
