The streets of Surfers Paradise will come alive this October for Fest-Evil, as magicians, makeup artists, flash mobs and costume competitions entertain by day whilst the living dead prepare to creep in after dark. An initiative of Surfers Paradise Alliance, the three-day spook-tacular Halloween-inspired event promises to entertain ghosts, ghouls and thrill seekers of all ages, culminating in the official Surfers Paradise Zombie Walk on 28 October.

Families are invited to immerse themselves in the frightening excitement of Fest-Evil and are encouraged to dress up in their favourite Halloween costumes and be part of the event. Surfers Paradise Fest-Evil by day will be a safe and friendly opportunity for children. Fun activities for children and adults will be held, such as learning dance moves to Michael Jackson’s Thriller in one of the child-friendly shows, the Ooky Spooky Magic Show on Saturday, Drax 4 Kids on Sunday, fire-eating, angle-grinding, singing Voodoo Revue to thrill crowds on the Friday night feature show and the One Cavill Beach Bar’s Infectious Halloween party on Friday and Saturday nights for the adults.

The Halloween markets will be operating until 9pm on each night so Halloween fans should head down to purchase their scary wares and get their horror makeup by special FX makeup artists. Prizes are up for grabs for the best and scariest entries at the Cosplay Competitions with a $4300 cash prize that will attract and cater for children through to more serious adult entrants.

Formerly held in Brisbane, the Zombie Walk is notoriously popular with folk who love to marvel at the horror provided by the unusual exhibition of the monsters on parade. All participants in the Surfers Paradise Zombie Walk must purchase tickets for the event. This year’s Surfers Paradise Zombie Walk will proudly support the Brain Foundation, a nationally registered charity dedicated to funding world-class research Australia wide for neurological disorders, brain disease and brain injuries.

Surfers Paradise Fest-Evil provides several package options including Zombie Walker tickets for singles and groups of up to four and the Night Stalker package for those aged 18+ years, which includes entry to a VIP Danse Macabre Club Night on Saturday 27 October.
