The Brisbane Marriott Hotel has recently undergone a $20 million renovation project which has seen the transformation of the hotel’s 267 guest rooms and suites, Executive Lounge, two floors of event space and signature restaurant. An iconic landmark on the corner of Queen and Adelaide streets, the Brisbane Marriott Hotel is in a prime CBD location, set among a stunning backdrop of the Brisbane River, Story Bridge, Kangaroo Point Cliffs and city skyline.

Ahead of the Hotel’s 21st birthday celebrations in early 2019, the hotel has unveiled its fresh new look from October 2018. Owning company YTL have engaged Malaysian based Duoz Design, who have created sophisticated designs and finishes, incorporating elegant colours and fabrics. The design and ambiance reflects Brisbane’s cosmopolitan appeal and enviable lifestyle, creating understated luxury in the heart of the River City. Included in their brief was the restoration of 7300 square metres of the original, finest quality marbles.

All rooms feature natural light with views to either the Brisbane River taking in the Story Bridge and Kangaroo Point Cliffs or the City skyline. Duoz have selected furnishings, fabrics and finishes to reflect and complement Queensland’s enviable lifestyle and climate. Light coloured timbers, textured wallpaper and a soft colour palette all combine to provide a welcoming and airy setting. The majestic, ceiling height fabric bedheads feature back lighting which creates a soothing evening ambiance. Today’s savvy traveler will also enjoy the flexible and multi-functional work and eat surfaces. The stunning bathrooms feature restored, original marble, thoughtful lighting, magnifying mirror, roomy baths and separate shower. The unique, contemporary ambience of the Greatroom Lobby provides an inspiring first impression. Marble, granite and Grecian sandstone columns span 3.6 metres in diameter and the hand-forged chandelier is truly the Lobby centre piece, completing the sophisticated and grand sense of arrival.

The most stunning feature of the Brisbane Marriott Hotel is the exquisite use of marble. The lobby lifts feature a stunning border of Portoro marble and floors of Rosso Alicante. Other magnificent marbles have been used throughout the hotel including Filetto Rosso, Botticino Semi and Rosso Levanto.
