Brisbane’s most fashionable week has kicked off with the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Luncheon, with more than 200 special guests and VIPs converge at Lightspace in Fortitude Valley for an exclusive salon preview of the Spring/Summer collections on Sunday 26 August.

Today’s (27 August) high-glamour events included the QueensPlaza High Tea and Fashion Trends, held for the first time in the magnificent Grand Ballroom at Tattersall’s Club. Guests were treated to an indulgent event featuring the must-have pieces of the new season from QueensPlaza’s luxurious Australian and International retailers, including opulent jewels by Paspaley and Bulgari. Tomorrow’s (28 August) High Tea event will, for the first time in MBFF Brisbane history, highlight dazzling diamonds from Tiffany & Co.

This evening (27 August), Festival Partner Pacific Fair takes to the runway for the second year running, with a covetable line-up of new-season fashions by Australian and International fashion brands including AJE, David Jones, Michael Kors, MYER, Sandro Paris, Tiffany & Co, and more luxury brands. Festival-goers throughout the week can expect some familiar faces on the runway, as rising model star and entrepreneur Lianna Perdis struts for each fashion show, while makeup mogul dad Napoleon Perdis sits front row after directing the makeup looks backstage.

Tuesday (28 August) evening sees a special off-site runway show held at the heritage St John’s Cathedral in Brisbane CBD, featuring Queensland and Australia’s top designers, paired with a sensational performance by Australia’s finest operatic classical soprano, Natalie Christie Peluso, from Opera Queensland. She will be performing Song to the Moon from Rusalka by Dvoák.
On Wednesday (29 August) the future of fashion will be unveiled at the Next Gen Group Show. Returning to Old Government House, the show will feature the diverse and creative visions of Queensland’s brightest emerging design talent. Closing out Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane on Thursday night (30 August), Mercedes-Benz Group Show 2 will be a spectacular finale, showcasing luxe Spring/Summer collections by leading Queensland and Australian fashion designers.
