Melbourne took over Lefty’s Old Time Music Hall on 30 November for Melbourne After Dark, a unique pop-up event by Visit Victoria showcasing Melbourne’s hottest live music, food and drink, experiences and arts scene.

The Music Hall was transformed to represent a typical Melbourne night time cityscape, complete with laneways and street art.

The crowd enjoyed live performances from Remi, Saskwatch and The Delta Riggs DJ set, while dining on burgers courtesy of Melbourne’s original burger experts, Huxtaburger.

Melbourne After Dark is part of Visit Victoria‘s new $12 million destination marketing campaign, A Twist At Every Turn, encouraging interstate visitors to explore the depth of experiences Melbourne has to offer.

Brisbane’s event was the second in a series of three, following the first in Sydney last week, and the third to be held in Adelaide next week.

Visit Victoria CEO Peter Bingeman said it was great to see so many Brisbane locals turn up to the event and experience what a typical night out in Melbourne is like.

“One of the unique aspects of Melbourne’s nightlife is that it runs all week. There are always people out and about dining with friends, drinking cocktails at an underground bar, strolling the night markets or watching a live music performance.

“Melbourne’s a city that is always evolving, there are always new restaurants and bars, but it’s also a pioneering city of arts and culture, it happens in Melbourne first. So we’re here encouraging Queenslanders to book their next trip down south and see what’s changed since last time,” Mr Bingeman said.
