Queensland Symphony Orchestra presents a diverse program this spring at QPAC Concert Hall.

Fancy an evening of fun and famous tunes? On Thursday 9 August, grab your Union Jack and join the annual (Not) The Last Night of the Proms concert. Prepare to swoon at Love and Other Catastrophes, a mid-morning concert on Sunday 19 August featuring ravishing music from some of the world’s favourite dramatic operas. On Friday 24 and Saturday 25 August join the Bernstein at 100 party celebrating the life and works of superstar composer Leonard Bernstein. For these special occasions the Orchestra will perform a feast of Bernstein hits, including music from his beloved West Side Story.

On Thursday 6 September, marvel at Beethoven’s 7th Symphony, an iconic work made (even more) famous as the accompaniment to Colin Firth in The King’s Speech. On Sunday 30 September be enchanted by The Best of Movie Music featuring iconic themes from Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, Star Wars and more. Want more Shakespeare in your life? Don’t miss the Bard and Beyond on Saturday 6 October, and indulge in Mendelssohn’s lush Midsummer Night’s Dream, a work full of beguiling melodies and rich orchestration.
