Hidden away in the busy streets of Broadbeach, a private speakeasy bar with a 1920s twist awaits nightfall, ready to welcome its sophisticated guests.

The gold candelabras are dimly lit, soft jazz music is playing and only the most expensive champagne is chilling. Though shelves are outfitted with vintage books, there are no windows, no hint of the outside world. This is not just a bar: this is an escape.

Following the success of Koi Dining & Lounge Bar, Glass Dining & Lounge Bar, and The Loose Moose Tap & Grill House, The Gennari Group has gone above and beyond all expectations with this glamorous, upmarket party venue. “Speakeasy bars are always popping up, but no one’s ever going to do anything like this,” said Patrik Gennari, CEO of The Gennari Group.
Patrik and fellow business partners Shannon Deane and Michael Dragosevic have spared no expense in making this 80-seat intimate dining and cocktail space one of the most extravagant party places on the Gold Coast.

The secret, Patrik believes, is attention to detail.

The venue pays homage to its 1920s vibe: leather Chesterfields invite you to take a seat, while red velvet booths welcome larger groups. The walls are lined with mahogany and covered with custom-crafted shelves displaying vintage treasures and bottles of rare premium whiskey. “You walk in there and you feel like you could be anywhere: New York, London, Milan,” said Patrik.

The cuisine, beverages and service are of the highest quality and to match the elegant interior, customers are asked to comply with a strict dress code.

Patrik said that the Roosevelt Lounge fulfils a need on the Gold Coast, particularly for those who have outgrown the nightclub scene. The high quality, sensorial experience is paired with live music for a party straight out of Prohibition. “People in their 30s, 40s and 50s don’t want to go out nightclubbing. They want to dress up and go out and be spoilt somewhere created especially for them where they can dance the night away,” he said.

Though the venue might be a tribute to the past, the dining experience offers a contemporary twist with everything from freshly shucked oysters, to Kobe beef 7+ marble score and chocolate fondant served with Ecuadorian chocolate ganache and raspberry coulis. The biggest seller, The Himalayan Salt Block, comes out to the perfectly crafted marble tables where elegant customers get to sear premium selections of Wagyu beef, prawns, scallops and more.

The alcohol selection is similarly refined, including the world’s finest champagnes (Ruinart and Dom Perignon) and the world’s most premium vodka for first pour; Belvedere Unfiltered. The cocktail list also boasts molecular gastronomic cocktails made right at your table; worth the wait and the entertainment.

Patrik is firm in his belief that the Roosevelt Lounge is a venue like no other. “It’s just unique! It’s like you’re stepping into another world. Like I said, it’s that attention to detail. People walk in here and they just love it.”
