The Makers Take is a creative exhibition platform that promotes and supports local artists and designers by hosting a series of curated exhibitions and cultural events, one of which was held Friday 27 July.

The exhibition aims to build a strong design community and engage the public from South East Queensland to Northern New South Wales with the thriving, local creative industries. As part of the series, the third and largest installment yet was held at UAP, a globally-recognised leader in public art and architectural design solutions, and expanded to include 22 furniture and homeware designers who showcased some of its newest works. The exhibition had a turnout that surpassed expectations, with more than 400 guests attending the exhibition. Sales were running high, as works were available on the night for purchase.

Despite its roaring success, the Makers Take looks to keep the ball rolling. The creative platform is also looking to run a workshop and setting up a support network for emerging designers later this year.
