South East Queensland will host Australia’s first ever Effervescence Champagne Festival from August 19 to 21, to celebrate both the region and the bubbly beverage.
Amanda Reboul, The Bubble Diva‘s champagne educator, said she wanted to create an event that celebrated champagne, for everyone from aficiondos of the drink, to new lovers. “It’s the opportunity to celebrate a wine that we so often use to mark some of life’s most important moments,” Ms Reboul said.
The festival will take place at Spicers Hidden Vale, an hour from Brisbane City. Complete with tastings and master classes, guests can expect to be pampered with different wines from different regions in Champagne and different styles of the drink. Effervesence ambassador, and Mr Hollywood in Oz, Damien Anthony Rossi is enthusiastic about the festival. “As a passionate lover and consumer of fine bubbly, I am extremely excited about this first-ever champagne festival in Australia,” Mr Rossi said.
Twenty-four family-owned champagne houses will join the festival. Champagne experts will also be in attendance, including Vin de Champagne winner David Donald. Appreciation and education about the drink will come to the forefront. Guests are encouraged to indulge in either the special VIP weekend package or a day ticket to experience the festival. Every ticket will include tastings, cheese, and other accessories and gifts.
“I look forward to hearing the joyous sound of the first champagne cork being popped at what is sure to become one of the country’s most spectacular annual events,” Mr Rossi said.
The festival will be the first of it’s kind in Australia and aims to celebrate the iconic drink that symbolises celebration itself. Find more information about the festival here.
