Each year, the EKKA rolls out new activities and entertainment, such as the Animal Boulevard. A chance for visitors to interact with hundreds of animals, big and small, it also provides an opportunity for EKKA guests to broaden their knowledge of Queensland’s primary industries.
The RACQ Animal Nursery is home to animals including lambs, ducklings, and goats that can be fed and petted.
This year, Sideshow Alley welcomes a new addition. At 25 metres tall with a swing of 45 metres high, ‘The Beast’ is available for all adrenaline junkies. If soaring above the grounds at 120kms an hour isn’t your ideal EKKA experience, there are a multitude of other rides to enjoy, such as the ‘Star of the Show,’ which is Australia’s first rotating gondola Ferris wheel with a 360 degree view of Sideshow Alley.
Finished with the rides? Take advantage of the EKKA’s generous food options, including Zambrero, a restaurant that specialises Mexican cuisine. Converted into a food truck for convenience, it will dish up kid’s options, superfood power bowls, nachos or the classic burrito.
The EKKA wouldn’t be the EKKA without show bags. There are show bags for every age and interest this year, from Peppa Pig to Doctor Who to Gobstoppers to the two dollar Bertie Beatle bags.
Finish the day by seeing the newly designed night program in the Main Arena. The traditional segments such as wood chopping and the trots will be joined with a Hot Wheels High Octane Show and live music.
