Everybody’s Doin’ It

FreeThis February and March a number of local playwrights will be showcasing their work through a series of free play readings in The Space. Often the precursors to larger productions, these readings are the perfect opportunity for the playwright to engage with the audience and test their material in an intimate setting.
Everybody’s Doin’ It: Bradley McCaw’s story, Everybody’s Doin’ It, follows a group of ‘about to be’ grown-ups as they descend upon Australia’s party capital, the Gold Coast. Toni, who has a steady boyfriend that’s planning on asking for her hand in marriage, and her two girlfriends Greta and Pip, head to Schoolies a day early. Excited about their first night out, they attend the ‘Party of the century’ where they meet three boys looking for a ‘good time’. Together the two groups face the question of what the term ‘getting lucky’ really means, challenging their beliefs in adhering to the ‘status quo’.
