Leah Thiessen and Jan Hodgson Exhibit

Jan Hodson’s new series of still life paintings captures the beauty in the simple pleasures of life. Jan explores light, shadows and highlights, capturing the very essence of still life painting. Jan has had been featured in many art awards such as the Brisbane Rotary Art Spectacular and the Lethbridge 10000 Small Scale Art Award.
Leah Thiessen’s new collection Dirt Music explores the magic of the natural world. Similar to music, nature captivates, moves, excites and humbles its audience. This collection is a direct response to Australian landscape, exploring unique ways of capturing the diverse terrain. Leah’s paintings are a physical and visceral experience, a process of multiple layers of painting, scraping back, and drawing in to.
Leah has been a finalist in a number of prestigious art awards including the Gold Coast Art Prize, the Paddington Art Prize, the Calleen Art Prize and the Natural Science Art Award.
