Metro Arts is showcasing Yaad Karo, a new work by Shivanjani Lal which explores the history of migration that links her personal history to the indentured labour communities of India and the Pacific. Consisting of 140 hand-stitched maps and images from the artists’ grandmother’s archive, the exhibition creates a visible link between Lal and these communities by stitching together both personal and collective histories.
