A breakfast Anzac Day event was held at the Beenleigh Historic Village on Thursday 25 April. The morning saw Australian, Aboriginal, Kiwi, and Maori cultures come together under one flag to honour the ANZACs. The event was put together by Mike Tamaki who hails from New Zealand where is he is well known for helping visitors experience Maori Culture in an authentic way. The public gathered for an Australian breakfast followed by a traditional smoking ceremony, welcome to country, flag raising ceremony and cultural performances by award-winning Aboriginal and Maori culture groups. Tamaki now heads up Spirits of the Red Sand where he aims to replicate the same success in Australia.
