Piano Burning at Northshore

Piano Burning, performed as part of this year’s Brisbane Festival, is a homage to the first of Annea Lockwood‘s Piano Transplants, in which she reimagined people’s relationship with the iconic instrument. In the original Piano Burning, Lockwood celebrated the transformation of objects by burning an irreparable upright piano on the banks of the Thames in London, in 1968. Join Lawrence English of Room40 as he recreates this experience on the banks of our own Brisbane River.
