The campaign is auctioning some of the most sought after table reservations to put food on the plates of those in poverty-stricken countries, offering Brisbane diners the chance to give more than just their loved one a night out this year.
A Table To End Hunger has enlisted more than 130 restaurants across Australia, as well as venues in Bali, Hawaii and England, to offer a unique Valentine’s day experience. Through an online auction, bidders can win specially-curated dates at venues including Brisbane’s Urbane, Bucci, Little Big House and Aria restaurants.
This year, bidders will also be able to win more than dinner and drinks, with some venues offering packages exclusive to the night.
The campaign offers a wide range of Valentine’s day experiences. At Aria, bidders can sit window-side and enjoy dramatic views of the Storey Bridge, with a special menu from Head Chef Ben Russell and a unique selection of award-winning wines. Little Big House offers a more casual experience, with a private karaoke room, cocktails and pub grub.
“A Table To End Hunger is an amazing opportunity to not only dine at a top restaurant with your loved one, but to help solve a bigger problem,” said CEO of The Hunger Project Australia Melanie Noden.
The Hunger Project aims to arm men and women globally with the skills, resources and education they need to transform their lives and create opportunity to end hunger. Their overarching goal is to see an end to world hunger by 2030.
“There’s still a long way to go to end world hunger, and A Table To End Hunger is one way for Australians to play a part in the solution,” Ms Noden says.
