Brisbane’s own Hals Van Der Poorten will host his final show at age 82 at Paddington’s Percolator Gallery. His exhibition showcases colourful images inspired by his rural Sri Lankan upbringing, as well as his love for the Australian bush. As a one-time tea planter, inventor, engineer and runaway, he has lived a life of extraordinary adventures, all of which colour his works. The exhibition’s opening night event will be held on Friday 6 July, from 6pm to 9pm.
