Online art sales site Art Market Space has launched, providing a platform for sellers and buyers of art.
Art Market Space caters for all sectors of the market with a comprehensive database of national artists from contemporary to 19th Century, allowing for improved buyer search options as well as ease for sellers posting. CEO of Art Market Space Lee Steer said he was delighted to announce the launch of this exciting new selling and buying online platform that will help contemporary artists in particular. “Years of development lie behind this site and a great deal of thought and planning has gone into it to ensure that it fills the online void for many sellers and buyers,” Steer said. “We have created a large online market that will allow artists, galleries and collectors to sell and re-sell their works at their true value, without the heavy discounting and limited artist menu that the auction system demands. Until now auction was the only viable option for many sellers.”
Art Market Space offers other features including video experiences of the artworks providing potential online buyers with a virtual review before purchase, exposure of artist’s works to a national audience, and no costs incurred for sellers unless their work is sold. Art Market Space Board Chairman and former Queensland Premier Campbell Newman said today’s announcement signalled a positive change in the current art landscape for artists and buyers. “I am delighted to be the inaugural chairman of this start-up company having been involved from day-one with its development,” Newman said.
