The very best homegrown spirits, liqueurs and bitters have been tasted and judged at the inaugural 2019 Perth Royal Distilled Spirits Awards with ‘Fortune’ Noosa Heads Distillery winning three medals for their Signature Dry Gin, White Malt & Peter Phillips Navy Strength Gin.
The awards invited Australia’s finest Distilleries to take part in their respective categories to celebrate the craftsmanship, skill and hard work behind every bottle, with the results marking the second round of wins in just 6 months for Noosa’s first Distillery after launching in March of this year. Head Distiller Jack Boyd expresses, “The Fortune team are really proud to be the only Queensland Distillery to place in the awards, receiving critical feedback like this from experienced judges allows us to continue developing and improving our products. It’s exciting to be achieving results like this in our first 6 months, the public reaction and feedback has really exceeded our expectations”.
The Distilleries top results came from their limited release Peter Phillips X Navy Strength Gin, a high proof Gin that was recognised for its light hints of citrus, woody juniper and balanced flavours. “To be validated on a national level for our first limited release is incredibly humbling, it’s a very bold, lusciously boozy Gin and aligning the botanicals with artist Peter Phillips’ story has resulted in a match made in heaven,” Jack said.
