Showtime Events Centre has been announced as the winner of the Best Wedding Reception Venue at the Australian Bridal Industry Academy (ABIA) Awards on Tuesday 19 June. Held at The Star Gold Coast, this is the first time Showtime Events Centre has been a finalist at the National Awards, after winning the category at the Victorian ABIA Awards three of the past five years.
All ABIA winners and finalists across more than 30 categories were determined solely based on the ratings provided by the past brides and grooms of Australia. Each year the ABIA Awards Program receives more than 25,000 wedding registrations, which are invited to rate and review their wedding vendors.
Showtime also placed runner-up in the Best Function Coordinator category, missing out on the top prize by just .02 per cent. General Manager Brad Dabbs said that “the Showtime team works incredibly hard to achieve and maintain our high standards, from initial contact right through until the end of the big day. It’s an amazing validation to be recognized for our passion and we will proudly boast that we are the best wedding reception venue in Australia.” Senior Wedding Producer Karinda Mathison said that “I’ve spent the past five years as a Wedding Producer at Showtime Event Group and have always known that we were the leader in our field. We consistently set the highest standards for ourselves, and to receive this acknowledgement is [a] testament to that”.
Showtime Events Centre, located in Melbourne’s South Wharf, is the flagship event space operated by Showtime Event Group, who specialise in boutique weddings, and business events encompassing unique venues and creative conferencing. In February of this year, Showtime Event Group was appointed by the National Trust of Australia (Victoria) as the exclusive caterer to the Old Melbourne Gaol and has also launched an off-site catering arm. Brad Dabbs says “it’s already been a very big 2018 for Showtime Event Group, but I’m more than excited to say that the next step in the growing journey is just around the corner, so watch this space, we’re only getting started.”
