Caloundra Street Fair will come to life on International Dance Day this Sunday, 29 April to celebrate the Bulcock Street Markets’ 16th birthday. In celebration of this milestone live dance entertainment and lessons will be showcased to get everyone up and on their feet. Caloundra Street Fair will feature four local dance groups, buskers, roving Latin dance entertainment, face painting and a jumping castle, as well as its traditional artisan markets and scrumptious food stalls.

While the Caloundra Street Fair has undergone significant changes recently, a series of new initiatives has revitalised the vibrancy of the Sunday classic, significantly enhancing the shopping experience it delivers. Caloundra Chamber of Commerce President Mike Shadforth said the fair is entering into a positive new era. “We have put our all into creating and transitioning to the next era of Sunday trading in Bulcock Street – a vibrant, creative and entertaining street full of discoveries, hidden treasures and delights,” he said. The new “holistic and collaborative” market configuration at this year’s Caloundra Street Fair allows the markets to join forces with the retail precinct and become one large community. Situated on Bulcock Street, Sportfirst Caloundra owner Sean McMichael says that the changes have been overwhelmingly positive as the extra room has created a “much better shopping experience” with attractions on either side of market-goers. “We have always enjoyed the markets, but we prefer it now because we actually feel as if we are a part of it,” said Sean.

In celebration of the fair’s 16th birthday, patrons are invited to share a morning of dance, music and a celebratory cake. The Caloundra Street Fair is held every Sunday from 8am to 1pm on Bulcock Street, Caloundra.
