Comuna Cantina has brought Latin American flare back to Brisbane City with the opening a new restaurant in the recently opened Dexus Building earlier in December.

Comuna City is the seventh venue in hospitality powerhouse Tim Johnson’s portfolio, The Corbett Collective, and signals the much anticipated return of una Cantina to Brisbane City after outgrowing their previous home on Albert Lane. Restauranteur Tim Johnson said he was excited to open his new restaurant and refresh the dining scene in this iconic Brisbane location.

Comuna City will capitalise on Brisbane’s beautiful weather and feature primarily alfresco dining whilst incorporating their signature pink and white styling with cutting-edge design features to deliver an experience that will excite diners.

Underneath the Dexus Building’s dappled sunlight-inspired roof, Comuna City offers a fully illuminated 15m Corian bar, DJ booth, alfresco and internal dining spaces with mixed seating options, VIP booths, and customisable lighting displays to make every night a fiesta.  Mr Johnson said COVID-19 allowed him to reflect on where he wanted to steer the new venue and The Corbett Collective as a whole.

Diners can expect the same delicious Latin American street food and Instagrammable cocktails that Comuna is loved for, with three new signature cocktails joining the mix: Crème Brulee, Lemon Meringue and Strawberry Cheesecake. The new opening follows Comuna Everton Park’s recent win of the Pivot and Innovation award in the 2020 Queensland & Northern Territory Restaurant & Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence.

Comuna City sits adjacent to the newly opened brother café, Mr Claude, with the original Corbett & Claude Italian restaurant just down the laneway off Elizabeth Street.
