Fans of the iconic Doughnut Time brand across Queensland can rejoice, as four new stores have opened in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast. Brisbane was the first to launch its new stores in The Myer Centre and South Bank Parklands on 30 November, followed by Burleigh Heads, Gold Coast on 1 December, and Coomera is due to open before the end of the year. The launch of the Brisbane stores went off with a bang, as the company provided a free doughnut giveaway to the first 2500 customers on its opening day in Queen Street Mall.

The dessert empire is set to come back better than ever, with new owner Pete Andros taking time to perfect the new formula and store experience. “It’s as simple as wanting to bring back a good quality product that Aussies genuinely miss. Doughnut Time was once a local success story and we’re beyond excited to bring it back,” Pete said. With over 10 years’ experience working with food brands both in Australia and abroad, Pete has vowed not to repeat the actions of the former Doughnut Time administration. “We plan on running our business differently, expansion will be slower than it was in past and we will be focusing on a few key stores per city,” Pete said.

Pete intends to keep to things in line with what customers know and love. While keeping some of Australia’s favourite flavours, Pete has plans to re-invigorate the menu with options for the health conscious. “We listened to what our audience wanted, we put a call out on our social media asking what flavours our customers wanted us to make and banoffee was the most requested. Holla’back Girl will bring the people the banoffee goodness they have asked for,” said Pete.
