Brisbane Racing Club has announced it will return to racing at Eagle Farm Racecourse on Saturday 22 December.

The announcement follows two successful trial runs on the Eagle Farm course proper over the past two weeks. The official barrier trials were conducted from the 1000 metre chute to the winning post, followed by two 800 metre jump-outs from the 1600 metre chute to test the back section of the course.

BRC Chairman Neville Bell said he was delighted with feedback from the trials and was looking forward to the return to Eagle Farm. “This track is Queensland’s home of racing so we’re excited about returning here after such positive reports on the surface. We’re 10 days away from racing at Eagle Farm again and we’re in the midst of a very strong Summer Carnival. It’s an exciting time,” Neville said.

The Saturday race day will offer a nine-day race card and is set to be the first of many action-packed race days and, reigniting status as Queensland’s premier race track. It is the Road to Magic Millions Raceday and the race line up includes two Group Three races, four Listed races and Magic Million Raceday wild card races worth a total of more than $1.3 million.
