Bloodlines

Metro Arts presents Bloodlines, an exhibition by Brisbane’s own Sancintya Mohini Simpson which pays tribute to and tells the untold story of women taken from South India to South Africa as labourers. Influenced by her heritage as a first-generation Australian of Indian-Anglo descent, Simpson’s art examines the complexities of racial and migratory experiences within Australia. Simpson says her work unravels the untold stories of an existence on the periphery of the world told through multi-channel video and paintings that interpret the Indian miniature-style.
