Brisbane’s biggest outdoor art gallery is returning to the iconic City Botanic Gardens with a public program of talks, tours, installations and workshops. Botanica will transform the City Botanic Gardens into a treasure trove of installations where residents can gain new perspectives through the lens of art, design and nature. Artist works in this year’s exhibition include Shattered designed by City Botanic Gardens staff using traditional plantings and species to express how horticulture adapts over time, Heidi Axelsen + Hugo Moline (MAPA)’s Plant Nation which explores plants and their role in marking territory and immersive installation by Ross Manning titled Vulgaris, which reveals a hidden sonic landscape in the Gardens.
