Visionary South African Theatre company Isango Ensemble, makes its powerful Brisbane debut with SS Mendi: Dancing the Death Drill at Brisbane Festival 2019. Isango Ensemble is internationally renowned for re-imaginings Western Theatre classics and presenting them with a South African perspective. SS Mendi: Dancing the Death Drill, is the story of “The Black Titanic” based on the book by Fred Khumalo, and is a powerful and moving musical theatre, inspired by the real-life tragic maritime disaster.
