One of Australia’s largest regional celebration of storytelling, literature and ideas, the Byron Writers Festival, will showcase writers including Kurdish-Iranian refugee, Behrouz Boochani, who will be appearing via livestream from Manus Island where he has been detained since 2013, celebrated Australian author Markus Zusak, and Walkley Award winning journalist Leigh Sales who will share insights from her powerful book Any Ordinary Day.
