Walk the red carpet alongside actors, filmmakers and film crew at the opening night of the 17th Annual Gold Coast Film Festival. You will be captivated by internationally acclaimed dramas, comedies and genre films, locally made indie gems, engaging documentaries, family features, anime and the scariest horror films. With more than eighty film and film related events in eight different locations, this festival is a celebration of film and film making. You will also get the chance to learn from Australia’s leading producers, writers and directors at intimate seminars and workshops. Special events include Women in Film screenings and events, the annual short film competition SIPFest and YScreen – a selection of entertaining and intelligent films and workshops for children and teens. This event will transform Surfers Paradise beach into a vibrant and unique cinema, featuring twelve cinematic masterpieces by emerging filmmakers from around Australia.
