Show off your dance moves and play amid the art at Museum of Brisbane (MoB) as Matt Hsu’s Obscure Orchestra brings the Play Moves exhibition to life with a roving performance party for an UpLate event. One of Australia’s most respected ensembles, Matt Hsu’s Obscure Orchestra is a DIY inclusive collective of BIPOC, First Nations, disabled, non-binary, queer and trans artists at the intersection of art and activism. The 22-piece ensemble challenges the pomp and pompousness of traditional orchestras, using world instruments and rethinking everyday objects to promote inclusivity, anti-racism and community – bringing music back from the margins.
