Metro Arts is showcasing Christine Morrow’s new work Paintings which aims to complicate the traditional relationship between painting and architecture. Morrow produces multi-part painted configurations from canvases that fasten together with zippers, exploiting the material qualities of the painter’s canvas and stretcher frame to create dynamic, three-dimensional modular structures. The art constructs walls and partitions to occupy a space between painting, sculpture, installation and architecture.
