Pat Hall ‘Shine’ at Lethbridge Gallery

Light and Shadows are an integral part of Pat Hall’s art. Pat finds watercolour to be the perfect medium to capture the impression of sunlight. The pigments are translucent, allowing the subject to shine through. The unpredictable nature of the medium allows for an element of chance, giving a beautiful sense of spontaneity. Pat’s watercolours are predominantly inspired by the dazzling sunlight of the Australian bush. Eucalyptus leaves, with all of their imperfections, perfectly illustrate individual beauty and uniqueness. Pat floods her stretched paper canvases with colour before sealing them in a UV stabilised and waterproof coating. The images remain vibrant and accessible without being hidden behind glass; breathing new life into the medium.
