Dynamic textile brand Amigos de Hoy has collaborated with Tess Beagley of Minted Interiors to capture its new, retreat style rug collection, Ground Control. The rugs will debut at garden designer Mon Palmer’s iconic Little White Abode on 28 March.

Rich natural fibers and raw materials such as jute, cotton, hemp and pure wool form the customisable loomed range, with many styles elevated by metallics and gold- in a salute to Amigos de Hoy’s signature playful, whimsical style. “We really wanted to create something totally different in the rug sphere, so while we’ve gone for natural, tactile beauty that brings the outdoors inside for that resort feel,” Creative Director, Bree Hay-Hendry said. “It has got a touch of magic/bohemian bent with a few gold sparkles thrown in. Ground Control is all about open air, bare feet, texture and timelessness, but with spirited and luxurious edge.”

Minted Interiors shoot concepts exude a relaxed Australian coastal retreat living aesthetic, which Beagley said was influenced by global trends. “There is currently a trend towards retreat style living and our clients are requesting interior selections that are all about that laid-back coastal retreat interior style that Australians do so well,” she said. “We also love products that come with a story about home-grown design talent and appreciate a made-to-measure approach, so this collection is an exciting step forward for Australia’s interior textile offering.”

Amigos de Hoy is currently completing Good Weave Certification of its entire woven textile range. Good Weave provides customers peace of mind that no child forced labor was used in the making of the range and that their purchase supports programs that educate children and ensure decent work for adults.
