Gwinganna lifestyle retreat has won Best Australian Health and Wellness Retreat 2018 in the annual Luxury Travel Gold List Awards.

Located in the Gold Coast Hinterland the retreat is Australian owned and operated and provides scenic views of the coast and surrounding valleys. There are more than 20 wellness packages to choose from, ranging from two and seven-night stays. Gwinganna’s customised environment is well regarded globally for its transformative effect on guest’s lifestyle habits. It is a wellness haven maintained by healthy boundaries restricting guests from bringing and consuming cigarettes, drugs, food, caffeinated drinks and alcohol on the property.

Gwinganna is a destination designed to soothe the soul and inspire a healthier lifestyle. Facilities provided include two heated swimming pools, a spacious dining room, numerous relaxation areas and lounges, an extensive spa, a boutique store, a tennis court, gymnasium and a wellness education complex. Meals are included in all packages with the food philosophy centring around seasonal, local, organic whole foods with much of the produce harvested daily from extensive onsite gardens. Menus vary with each program and are designed in conjunction with the spa’s nutritionist. Programs also include a diverse range of activities encouraging resistance training. It is believed this training method helps the body to perform a combination of stability, functional movement, balance, core strength, and flexibility movements. Activities also aim to balance and regulate hormones reducing stress.

The Luxury Travel Gold List Awards are one of Australia’s only reader-voted awards. Gwinganna retreat won the title over Queensland’s Gaia Retreat & Spa, Golden Door Elysia Health Retreat & Spa, New South Wales and Hepburn Spa Retreat in Victoria. The resort also recently won Best Luxury Wellness Spa and Best Luxury Eco Spa Australia & Oceania at the 2018 World Luxury Spa Awards in Ireland.
