Hard Rock Cafe in Surfers Paradise celebrated its 25th birthday in March. A quarter century ago in March 1996 the Gold Coast welcomed the world famous Hard Rock Cafe to Cavill Avenue with Jimmy Barnes rocking the stage all night long. It was a defining moment in time. While much has changed since that truly epic night, the Hard Rock Cafe’s mantra of ‘Love All, Serve All’ remains unchanged, like a perfectly tuned bass guitar in sea of lip synchers. To celebrate the anniversary, an invitation-only event of 400 invited guests celebrated 25 years of HARD ROCK on the Gold Coast. Australian rock legends Shannon Noll and Thirsty Merc performed as well as the local house band, The Hard Rock Heroes. $10 from every anniversary tee sold to guests at the party went to Support Act, Australia’s only charity delivering crisis relief and mental health and wellbeing services to artists, crew and music workers who are doing it tough.
