Queensland has taken home an impressive list of prizes at this year’s HIA-CSR Australian Housing Awards. Aria Property Group’s riverside apartment complex, Oxley & Stirling, alone won two awards. Adding to the stash of wins, Queensland also took home the Australian Kitchen of the Year award.

The ceremony was held before hundreds of industry leaders on the final night of the Housing Industry Association (HIA) 2019 National Conference, held in Perth. Aria Property Group’s Oxley & Stirling won 2019 HIA Australian Apartment Complex, partnered by Beacon Lighting Commercial, and 2019 HIA Australian Outdoor Project, partnered by James Hardie.

The apartment building was applauded for luxe communal living including a theatre room, library and dining space with chef for hire. Its eye-catching use of curved double-glazing changes from green to gold in different light. The rooftop outdoor space offers something for everyone, with private dining, pool side lounges or bean bags for more casual get-togethers.

Darren James Interiors won 2019 HIA Australian Kitchen of the Year, partnered by Winning Appliances, for meticulous detail, precision installation and quality workmanship.

HIA Managing Director Graham Wolfe said the HIA-CSR Australian Housing Awards recognise the best in Australia’s residential building industry. “HIA is committed to recognising our members who excel in building exceptional homes, kitchens and bathroom,” said Wolfe. “These members are reaching the highest standards in workmanship, are innovative, and pushing the boundaries with design.

Wolfe also said that the awards recognise professional builders and business partners who are ahead of the game in their field and who go above and beyond in their customer service practices. “All winners and finalists are congratulated; having achieved one of the highest accolades and being recognised before their industry peers,” Wolfe commented. The HIA-CSR Australian Housing Awards are the ultimate platform to showcase the talents of the nation’s top builders and designers. Winners are selected from state-based finalists, with awards in 22 separate categories.
