The southern Gold Coast will be home to an iconic new residential project overlooking the site of the Kirra Beach Hotel.

KTQ Group, the owner of the award-winning Elements of Byron resort, is set to launch the $200 million, much anticipated first stage of a $380 million multi-staged re-development of the Kirra Beach Hotel site, which aims to transform Kirra into a world-class destination precinct.

Tim Keenan, of Keenan and Co which is marketing the project, said almost 1000 inquiries had been received since the project was publicly announced less than two months ago. More than a quarter are from interstate prospects who have not been able to get to Queensland until now. “The interest prior to launch has been unbelievable. In all my years in the industry I have never seen such strong inquiry levels in one project,” said Mr Keenan.

KTQ Group, headed by Peggy Flannery, unveiled its plans in October to launch stage one of the re-development of the Kirra Beach Hotel. The initial stage will offer over 100 luxury residences, predominantly targeting the strong owner-occupier market. The residences will offer a mix of one, two, three- and four-bedrooms, most of which will include a separate multi-purpose room.

In addition to the luxury apartments, a new pub and pavilion will be created. “Upon completion, Kirra Point will become the living heart of Kirra, a place that will bring people together to enjoy this iconic, relaxed beachfront setting in a beautifully enhanced, sophisticated environment,” said development director Jeremy Holmes.

The first stage is expected to take two and a half years to deliver and will create hundreds of initial construction jobs and many hospitality jobs over the lifetime of the project.
