The opening of Miffy & friends at QUT Art Museum in late November included special guest speakers – via Zoom – Her Excellency Mrs Marion Derckx, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Australia in Canberra and Marja Kerkhov, Managing Director of Mercis bv, based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Miffy & friends is the first major exhibition of Dick Bruna in Australia. Mr Bruna pairs his original drawings and illustrations alongside the work of seven of Australia’s most exciting contemporary artists: Stephen Bird, Sadie Chandler, Nadia Hernández, Carla McRae, Nell, Brian Robinson, and Vipoo Srivilasa.
