Sports presenter and House for Life ambassador Sam Squiers paying a visit to the 51 square custom-built home currently under construction by Plantation Homes. The four-bedroom home will go under the hammer to support sick and premature babies being cared for at Mater Mothers’ Hospital’s Neonatal Critical Care Unit (NCCU).

Accompanied by Sam’s 21-month old daughter Imogen, Sam will walk through the charity home located at The Surrounds, Helensvale, to be auctioned off on Sunday 8 September. Sam will also catch up with the volunteer trade people and suppliers who have donated their time and resources to the build so far. The House for Life is being been built on land donated by Villawood Properties.

Imogen was born at 32 weeks at Mater weighing only 1.3 kilograms. She was confronted with a number of health issues and spent seven weeks at Mater’s NCCU. Imogen continued with monthly hospital stays for the first five months of her life. Imogen received exceptional care at Mater Mother’s Hospital which is why Sam decided to be involved in the House for Life Project. “I have experienced first-hand the incredible work and commitment of Mater’s NCCU for all sick and premature babies and the level of care Imogen has had so far on her road to recovery,” said Sam. “We had a challenging journey ahead of us as a family, but we knew that Mater was with us all the way.”
