Brisbane will welcome new dog festival NewBARKet on Sunday 27 May in Newmarket to celebrate everyone’s favourite four legged friend.

The festival will boast a pooch parade judging 10 categories including Most Obedient, Best Kisser and more. Guests can practice their downward dogs with Puppy Yoga, book their pup into a doggy spa session and peruse a bunch of pup pop-up stalls. Pet photography will be on offer from John Muir Photography, taking photos of pampered pooches for free. The event will provide guests with an opportunity to up-skill on pet knowledge with dog first aid covering trauma and heat recovery, obedience classes and a very special spectacle show covering tricks and skills. The event, hosted in the basement of Newmarket Village, will help raise funds and awareness for the RSPCA and offer live music and great food options, even a Bone Bar for fur babies.

Events and activities including the dog parade can be made on the day at a first in, first served basis. NewBARKet is a free event and open to all on Sunday 27 May 2018. Dogs are welcome, however must be on leads. Newmarket Village says there will be ample parking and encourage bringing the whole family to experience this pooch filled fest.
