One Fish Two Fish is a fresh take on the suburban restaurant and bar, with something for all schools of seafood lovers, opening at Kangaroo Point on Friday 15 February.

Built on owners Daniel and Amelia Miletic’s love of sharing joyful interactions with food and drinks, each guest to One Fish Two Fish is welcomed to a relaxed dining experience, studded with a lively 80s soundtrack. Miletic is not new to the upmarket fish game—he previously worked at Burleigh Heads’ acclaimed oceanfront venue, The Fish House. While some of the style and luxe elements of The Fish House carry through, One Fish Two Fish sets itself apart in its open-armed accommodation and flexibility.

The menu wades through gleefully-titled sections including Old Fish New Fish, Fancy Pants, and Don’t Leave Yet, with a range of classic fish and potato combinations, as well as jazzed-up explorations of local seafood. Those looking to venture deeper through the menu can look forward to kingfish sashimi with green nam jim dressing, coconut cream and soft herbs, soft shell crab sliders with coleslaw and Sriracha and lime aioli, and pot-au-feu of tomato and saffron soup with potato, shellfish, prawns, and fish – served with a crusty baguette and aioli.

A playful take on a mainstream favourite, the Quarter Flounder burger mixes One Fish Two Fish’s commitment to providing a joyful dining experience with the quality fare on offer, packed with panko-crumbed flounder goujons, lettuce, cheese and house-made tartare.

The dedicated potato menu includes super tubers for snackers and picky eaters alike, with shoestring fries, beer-battered chips, regular and sweet potato scallops, and potato bake with nduja sausage all on offer, with four salt options to spice things up including Cajun gunpowder.

One Fish Two Fish’s Queenslander setting with its fresh, lively interior and expansive back deck will have guests wanting to see the afternoon become evening. Red Fish Blue Fish nights will see top local and international chefs like Ben Williamson (formerly of Gerard’s Bistro) and Anthony Healy (Executive Chef, Kokomo private island) take the rudder to dish up their own fresh takes on luxury seafood dinners, while regular events like Crab and Cray Cray  banquets and a Great (not just Good) Friday event will have everyone celebrating.

One Fish Two Fish’s bar offering will be diverse without being convoluted, including house cocktails on tap and a range of beers and wines selected to suit whichever school of seafood you belong to. With classic fish and chips done perfectly, new-school fancy fish dishes, and versatile and irresistible sides, One Fish Two Fish is the new go-to for midweek dinners, lazy weekend lunches, and feasting with friends and family, all fins considered.
